Montréal's Quartier des spectacles

Since several years the Montreal City helped by various institutions such as the Place of Arts, the Monument Nationale, Spectra, and the SAT tries to create in a left behind part of Montreal a thematic district with cultural vocation. There are already more than one ten institutions in this sector with the promising future.

For two years, Montreal city has bought olds buildings to sell them back to possible promoter whose interest would be related to the district of the spectacles of Montreal.

Right now, a good part of the this districts is encumbered of what remains from the Red light district, the old hot district of Montreal reduced to only one street corner: St. Lawrence/Ste. Catherine.
