Multimédia District

Multi-media district of Montreal is located in the old suburb of Récollets, in the square between the street La Commune, Bonaventure motorway, McGill Street and Saint-James Street.

This small district has undergoes a revitalization extremely successful following a plan adopted by the government of Quebec at the end of the Nineties. Before this period, this old industrial district was really devastated. Left behind by industrials for several years, many buildings of the industrial period were simply abandoned after the great depression and then, in the Seventies, with the closing of the Lachine Channel and the construction of Bonaventure motorway this district was simply forgot.

Today, multi-media district is still under development. The revitalization of close sector: International district give a second breath to this left behind sector of the old industrial heart of Montreal City.

Here is a mini pictures exhibit showing many contrasts of this sector.
