This district is located in the eastern part of the Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough. It is bounded on the east by the city of Montreal Est and on the north by the borough of Anjou.
This area was greatly altered by the construction of the Bridge-Tunnel Louis Hippolyte Lafontaine. The highway leading to the tunnel was constructed over the runes the old center of Longue-Pointe. It destroyed the Church of St. Francis of Assisi-de-la-Longue-Pointe to leave the way open for an entrance to the bridge-tunnel. The church succeeded to one built in 1724, itself rebuilt after a fire. Despite this, there are still many interesting buildings to explore in this area.
